KHUZDAR: The Islamic State militant group claimed responsibility for blast at Shah Noorani Shrine near Khuzdar city of Balochistan where at least 52 people including women and children were killed and more than 100 injured on Saturday evening.
The Islamic State said in a statement claimed the attack via Amaq, its affiliated news agency. “35 dead and 95 wounded Shia visitors in a martyrdom operation attack by the Islamic State militants that targeted a shrine in a city in Balochistan,” the agency said.
People are searching for their beloved ones as many have gone missing after a suicide blast at the shrine of Shah Noorani. The devotees reached the shrine of Shah Norani that was reopened a day after a deadly suicide blast.
Balochistan is also a key link in a $46 billion transport and trade corridor between Pakistan and China, which hinges on a deep-water port in the southwestern city of Gwadar.
– Shrine blast strongly condemned –
The People from different segments of life have strongly condemned a deadly suicide blast in Shah Noorani shrine. Talking to news agency here on Sunday, Hyderabad Catholic Diocese Bishop Rt Rev Kaleem John, the Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) president and ex-MNA Sahabzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair, Sindh Jaffaria Alliance President Rashid Ali Jaffery, Shia Ulema Council President Kazim Raza Naqvi, member CEC All Pakistan Minorities Sindh Chapter M Parkash Advocate and others have strongly condemned a deadly suicide attack.
They have strongly condemned the bomb blast and expressed deep grief over the loss of several precious lives in the incident especially innocent children. They said that the people of Pakistan have rejected the extremist forces as these forces are the enemies of Pakistan and Islam.
They sympathized with the bereaved families and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and for the early recovery of the injured.
