KARACHI: The Islamic New Year will begin from Monday after the moon of Moharramul Haram has been sighted on October 2(Today).
The announcement was made by the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman after presiding over a meeting this evening in Karachi. The Ashura will fall on October 12 (Wednesday).
The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced that there will be public holiday in the province on the occasion of 1st Muharram, 1438 Hijra. The decision was made in a meeting of provincial cabinet, chaired by CM Pervaiz Khattak.
The Administration Department government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has notified the public holiday on account of martyrdom of Hazrat Umar (RA).
