ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance Mohammad Ishaq Dar showed satisfaction on Saturday over thePakistan Bureau of Statistics’ (PBS) preparations for holding of the national census.
The minister was chairing a meeting to review the progress of the on-going activities of PBS – including preparations for 6th population and housing census in the country, a statement said. He directed the Statistics Division to keep close coordination with the armed forces to ensure security and credibility in the census operation.
PBS chief statistician – earlier in the day – gave an overview of the preparations made for holding of census in which he said that the necessary preparations on the civilian side had been completed.
He said that the bureau had launched an integrated Agriculture Census as a pilot project on electronic data collection using android technology –which was a great shift from paper to electronic processing.
