Norton Sports June 3, 2009
Scott Norton is a previous client of Zowbie and after separating from his previous business partner he needed a new website. Scott is a hockey agent based out of Chicago and represents some of the league’s elite players. He wanted a website which would not only rank well in the search engines, but have the ability and ease to update the site frequently with latest news and videos.
Norton Sports is built using WordPress as the content managment system (CMS). We started with a standard WordPress theme and then custom tailored it to Scott’s preferences. Although we love to take claim for the site’s we design this one was really put together based upon Scott’s desires. With some custom HTML coding we were able to make Scott’s visions a reality.
Short Sales Central April 21, 2009
H2 Realty came to Zowbie Consulting wanting to develop a website which would provide information about short sales and foreclosures in and around the metro Atlanta area. ShortSalesCentral.com was created.
The website uses a custom WordPress real estate theme which includes IDX integration, email newsletter signup, rotating ad script, custom contact forms, and featured articles and video.
Integrate Your WordPress Blog’s RSS Feed Into Your LinkedIn Profile March 25, 2009
Awhile back I wrote a post about how LinkedIn is the most neglected of all social networks. Let’s face it, LinkedIn just isn’t as much fun as say, Facebook or Twitter. This tip will make it appear like you’re active on your LinkedIn account when really all you’ve done is setup your WordPress blog’s RSS feed to display on your profile.
Connect your virtual lives with the WordPress LinkedIn Application. With the WordPress App, you can sync your WordPress blog posts with your LinkedIn profile, keeping everyone you know in the know. Once added, you can filter your posts with a special LinkedIn tag and even display your personal WordPress Gravatar (global avatar). Updates are automatically sent to your network for instant notifications and gratification.
This should take you less than 5 minutes to complete, but it will most certainly leave a lasting impact on your business and its marketability.
To start, you will need to install the WordPress LinkedIn Application. Click on the button that reads, “Add application”.
Next, type in your blog’s URL. Example below.
That’s it…you’re done! Now click on the “View My Profile” tab and you’ll see how the application has now integrated your WordPress blog feed into your LinkedIn profile.
North Metro Doors March 15, 2009
About a year ago Gary of North Metro Doors did repair work on my garage door. Gary and I got to talking and he asked me what line of work I was in. I told Gary about Zowbie Consulting and a year later when Gary was needing a website he contacted me. Gary needed help to create a Pay Per Click (PPC) campaign, but to do this he also needed to have a website to direct the visitors to.
The North Metro Doors website is built on the WordPress platform which allows Gary the ease to alter and change content on his website while also having a blog. We framed in his supplier’s websites in order to allow visitors the ability to search all available garage doors and openers available to them.
Saint Nicholas Episcopal Church March 7, 2009
Saint Nicholas Episcopal Church was referred to Zowbie Consulting through one of its congregation members who is also a Zowbie client.
It was important to St. Nicholas that the website would allow for various staff members to make updates frequently and have the homepage change and update frequently. We decided this would best be achieved if the site was built using WordPress as the content management system (CMS).
Father Jeff records his sermons and he wanted to provide congregation members and prospective members the ability to listen to the sermons via the website. Zowbie provided this feature by implementing a podcast feature into the website.
We also integrated the church’s Google calendar into the site so that congregation members and visitors could see service times, youth group outings, etc.
They also wanted to be able to provide the ability to download the church’s monthly newsletter as a PDF file…this was achieved easily using file transfer protocol (FTP) and some simple instruction from Zowbie.
Additional site features include; news feed, comments feed, search feature, eNews and Updates, and a custom coded navigation menu.
Everything West Village March 1, 2009
As a bit of a test, I created EverythingWestVillage.com to see how hyper local you could make a website and still be successful. The biggest fear that most people have when they are told to identify a niche, is all the business that they might lose as a result. That is quite far from the truth. In fact, the more niche specific your website is, the higher number of qualified leads you receive, thus making you more productive as time is not wasted on unqualified leads.
West Village is a live, work, and play community located in Smyrna, GA. The development is a mixture of commercial and residential units. Everything West Village provides a place for residents as well as others in the community to find information and the latest news about happenings at West Village.
The website is built upon a WordPress platform and uses Zowbie’s community website theme. An IDX solution provided by Soft Realty has been integrated into the website as well to allow visitors to search for current homes for sale and rent at West Village.
